Here at GTR we have a team of young, vibrant and experienced teachers who have great passion for seeing their teachers excel. All training is done using an online platform. Classes are small and as a result we are able to provide undivided attention to all.

We primarily focus on the fundamental features of teaching English online. In anything that you want to succeed in, the foundation phase is important, here at GTR we understand this and offer a broad spectrum of training. We know first hand that theory and practical are two different things. We like to focus on using bits of our theory to help us execute the practicality of it all, from teaching a lesson to pronunciation training, you name it, we cover it!

After just one training session with our expert trainers we guarantee that you will feel more confident about online teaching.

Our aim and purpose is to build an ongoing relationship with each trainee because at GTR support is one of our core values.

This course is for both new teachers as well as existing teachers that want to improve their online teaching skills and increase that booking rate!

The minimum requirement to enrol is simple. Have your TEFL certificate ready or, be in the process of completing your TEFL course.

Module 1 : Set Up

The key focus in this module is to get you started, detailing all that you will require to start your online teaching career for e.g. laptop, internet speed, props, background etc. In this module we will also focus on essential objectives of the lesson and the different ways to engage with your students.

This module also focuses on different online teaching platforms and how to use them to have an enjoyable and efficient lesson not only for the student but for the teacher as well.

Module 2 : The Student

In this module we will cover the different students you may encounter and how to adjust your teaching techniques accordingly. We will focus on the Beginner Student, Intermediate Student and Advanced Student.

Module 3 : Online Teaching Strategies

In this module we will cover the following :

Total physical response (TPR)
Visuals
Teaching aids and props
Repetition
Time management and pacing
Positive correction
Reward systems

Module 4: New Teacher

In this module you will learn how to market yourself as a new teacher. We provide profile tips on how to build a solid online profile and how to achieve high booking rates. We cover some of the most frequently asked questions.

Module 5: Pronunciation and Enunciation

In this module we focus on the pronunciation and enunciation of words. Our objective is to train each of our teachers to develop a clear neutral accent.

Module 6: Mock Lesson

Here the teacher will apply all that they have learnt in previous modules. In this module we will simulate the different levels of classes a teacher can expect when teaching online from beginner to advanced. The potential teacher will be given the opportunity to teach a lesson to one of our trainers and detailed feedback will be provided

Module 7: Demo video, Interview Prep, and Resume

In this module, we will assist the teacher in preparing their introduction video as well as their resume.

Furthermore, we provide interview preparation by simulating an interview with the teacher and providing detailed feedback.

The training course is R2999 and consists of 10 sessions each being 30 to 45 minutes long.

All training is done online.
