Do I need to purchase any study material to do the TEFL course?
No you don’t! luckily for you everything is done online. Global Language Training provides you with everything you need including your own personal tutor that will help you at any time.
What qualifications do I need to teach English online/abroad?
Quite simple actually, just your 120 hour TEFL certificate or above. Do note that a lot of companies do require teachers with degrees as it gives you an edge to work in a more competitive environment, however here at GTR we also know a few companies that don’t require you to have a degree such as Palfish and Cambly, the list goes on.
Do I need to speak a second language to teach English online/abroad?
A question we get asked often. Remember although you may teach kids the foundation phases of English, majority of them do have a basic understanding of the worlds first language and all you have to do is build on that. That being said, the mere ‘hello’ ‘how are you?’ and ‘thank you’ might come in handy now and again.
What are TEFL course requirements?
- Not much I would say, firstly its important that you have a basic understanding of the English language.
- You also need to be able to read and adapt fluently to English study guides and materials given.
- You need to have the ability to converse with your tutor and peers around you.
- An important requirement that you will also need to the ability to take criticism and improve. At GTR we believe that there is always room for improvement, even for the best TEFL teachers out there.
What requirements do I need to start teaching English online?
- Firstly you would need a very faithful laptop with a front camera.
- Then you would need stronger than the hulk internet speed.
- A pair of headphones is also needed.
What age/academic level do i teach?
80-90% children between ages of 3 to 13 years old. This also may vary depending on what type of online school platforms you teach on.
How much do I earn?
This all depends on your qualifications and the company you work for. At GTR we strive for the best possible rates for our teachers.
I am already a teacher, do I still need to do a TEFL course?
In short, yes yes and yes! You are going to be teaching learners who learn English as their second language, this means that their English comprehension is quite low. A TEFL course aids you in how to communicate, teach and grow with these learners in order for them to show maximum improvement in a short time.
